These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of StartupUAE.guide ("the Service"), operated from the United Arab Emirates. By accessing or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. The Service

StartupUAE.guide is a curated directory and guide for startup founders in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. We provide information about venture capital firms, accelerators, grants, visa options, coworking spaces, service providers, networking events, and other resources relevant to the UAE startup ecosystem.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and capable of entering into a legally binding agreement under UAE law to use the Service. By creating an account, you represent that you meet these requirements.

3. Account Registration

  • You may sign in using LinkedIn or Google OAuth. We do not store your password.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
  • You agree to provide accurate information and not to impersonate any person or entity.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose under UAE federal or local law
  • Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information
  • Scrape, crawl, or use automated tools to extract data from the Service without written permission
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service to send spam, unsolicited messages, or promotional material
  • Reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without permission

5. User-Submitted Content

  • You may submit listings, feedback, and other content ("User Content") through the Service.
  • By submitting User Content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it on the Service.
  • You represent that your User Content does not infringe any third-party rights.
  • We reserve the right to review, edit, or remove any User Content at our discretion.
  • All submissions are subject to review before publication.

6. Accuracy of Information

We make reasonable efforts to ensure the accuracy of listings and information on the Service. However:

  • Information is provided "as is" and may change without notice.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of any listing.
  • Listings do not constitute endorsements or recommendations.
  • You should independently verify all information before making business decisions.
  • We are not responsible for any losses arising from reliance on information on the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

  • The Service, including its design, code, content, and branding, is owned by StartupUAE.guide and protected under UAE intellectual property laws (Federal Law No. 38 of 2021 on Copyrights and Neighbouring Rights).
  • You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
  • Third-party trademarks, logos, and brand names displayed on the Service belong to their respective owners.

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data in compliance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 (PDPL).

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by UAE law:

  • The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages.
  • Our total liability shall not exceed AED 500 (approximately USD 136).
  • We are not liable for any actions, services, or outcomes related to third parties listed on the Service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless StartupUAE.guide, its operators, and affiliates from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of the Service or violation of these Terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

12. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

  • These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates.
  • Any disputes shall first be attempted to be resolved amicably through negotiation.
  • If negotiation fails, disputes shall be referred to the competent courts of Dubai, UAE.

13. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. Material changes will be communicated by updating the "Last updated" date on this page.
